Who we are

Hi! I'm Kars. From my combined background in artificial intelligence and educational science, I work with great passion on ToetsTester. My first venture in education was 'de Keuze Klas', an initiative for affordable tutoring for underprivileged students. The impact I made with this was so cool that I wanted to achieve it on a larger scale. That's why I'm now fully committed to reducing the workload in education with AI!

Hi! I'm Bas. Originally trained as a biologist, but after seeing the high workload of teachers around me, I decided not to become a teacher myself. Instead, I started my own science communication business. In addition, I had a special side job: grading tests for roommates who didn't have time for it themselves. That simple job inspired me to look for a better and more sustainable solution than hiring students. That's how I started working on ToetsTester with great pleasure.

We are passionate about education. We want to ensure teachers have more time for what truly matters: their students.
Yet our world is so unequal that we want to make an impact in more areas than just education. That’s why we signed the Founders Pledge. This ensures that at least half of our personal proceeds from a possible sale will benefit social impact, while we remain competitive with other companies.
